Suppen and canoeing

Explore the Var by sup or canoe on the Argens River. In the middle of nature, far away from crowded urban areas.

Canoeing on the Argens River in the Var is a pleasant way to enjoy beautiful nature and the soothing sound of flowing water. The athletic routes are a good workout for the upper body.

The Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is a combination of canoeing and surfing. It is an original, fun and unique experience that offers an alternative to the canoe. Balance may be a challenge at first, but soon you will be comfortable on the board and enjoying the beautiful scenery passing by.

Mountain biking and cycling

If you enjoy challenging cycling routes and hilly landscapes, Lorgues is a perfect destination for you. With its stunning panoramic views and hills that offer you breathtaking views at every turn, it is the ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts.

For mountain bikers who prefer to ride on dirt roads and along rocky trails, there are numerous trails of varying difficulty that offer a great experience.

For touring cyclists and road cyclists, there are beautiful roads among vineyards and forests that are alternately flat and hilly. One well-known route is the EV8 Mediterranean Sea Route that passes as many as 12 countries along the Mediterranean coast. In France, the route follows the old railroad line between Salernes, Lorgues and Flayosc.

Walking and hiking

Lorgues is an ideal destination for hiking and walking enthusiasts because of the numerous paths and trails that wind through the rolling hills and green forests of the surrounding countryside. More than 230km of marked hiking trails give numerous opportunities to discover the beautiful nature and rich heritage.

The many shorter hiking trails around Lorgues lead you through the forests, hills and valleys of the area. For example, hike to the chapel of Saint-Ferréol, a 12th-century building perched atop a rock, or explore the Pey-Cervier countryside. Or head to Sillans-la-Cascade, for a beautiful hike to the spectacular 44-meter-high waterfall.

For the adventurous hikers, the Gorges du Blavet and the Gorges du Verdon are highly recommended. Here you will find a network of challenging hiking trails along steep cliffs and overhanging rocks.

Whether you are looking for a relaxing walk or a challenging hike, the Lorgues area offers something for everyone and is a great destination for anyone who loves the outdoors.

Rock climbing

Push your limits by climbing the rock walls! With numerous climbing areas in exceptional surroundings, the Lorgues area is a perfect destination for climbing enthusiasts. Whether you are searching for shady climbing routes in summer or sunlit climbing opportunities in lower temperatures, the Var offers the ideal conditions for an unforgettable climbing experience throughout the year.

Some of the best climbing locations include: the Brauch cliff in Carcès, the Vallon Sourn Gorges in Correns, the Gorges du Blavet, the Mont Faron in Toulon, the Destel Gorges in Ollioules. More information and reservations through our local partner Natur Evasion.

Golf

Near Lorgues you will find several golf courses suitable for all levels. For example, you can play golf at the Golf de Barbaroux, a challenging course with many elevation changes and water obstacles. You can also choose the Golf de Saint Endréol, a beautiful course that runs along a river and offers views of the Roquebrune Rock. Or choose one of the other golf courses located 15 to 60 minutes from Lorgues, such as:

Multisport complex

In addition to a tennis club with several tennis courts, Lorgues boasts the Stade Jean Turchi multi-sports complex, which was completely renovated in 2022. At this sports complex you will find a rugby and soccer field, a skate park, a pumptrack, a bmx/bike park, a gym with a fitness room, a climbing wall and playgrounds.

The sports complex is a few minutes’ walk from our group accommodation Bastide du Pin.

Winter sports

In winter, you can ski in Gréolières-les-Neiges, among other places, located 87 kilometers away. On a clear day, you will have a fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea and see deep into Italy. Other nearby ski areas include Auron and the large and fashionable Isola 2000. Ideal for snowboarders is La Colmiane. For families with children, Valberg is an excellent ski area.
